Waterfalls in centrel New York Finger Lake Region

Warterfall photography is always challenge. In order to get the water to make that ghosting effect you must us a long shutter speed and a tripod. On this trip to the Watkin Glen State Park in Ithica New York I found that the addition of a neutral density filter allowed much better results. The other crucial factor was the sky was overcast with clouds, direct sunlight on water will ruin your attempt at long exposure photography. Arive early in the morning at your destination if the sun is going to be out...

Norfolk Virginia Botanical Gardens Panoramic

For this panoramic shot I captured 13 individual pictures (witch were overlap by 25% each) and used adobe photoshop photomerge to stitch them together. If you try doing this use a manual setting on the white balance function in order to keep the color temp from changing from shot to shot. Make sure you pan evenly thur the course of your shot's to keep from having to crop after your photomerge is completed. It's definitely worth the trouble and effort to end up with results like this...Gary

Water Lily at Longwood Gardens

These shots were taken with a Nikon D-300 and the Lens was a nikor 80-400mm
ISO 100 Shutter speed 1/60 sec. f-11 to 25
It's better to take these type of photographs before the sun gets to bright, of course I didn't get there early enough but I am happy with these results...Gary
