A Face Only A Mother Could Love
Everybody always wants to show pictures of their pets and I am one of those folks. This is Colonel Bleep he is a Usambara Giant Three-horned Chameleon. Besides having independent control over each eye ( can look up and down at the same time ). The tail is prehensile ( can hang onto things ) and he has a projectile tongue which make feeding time very interesting...Gary

2nd Chance
The other day I came across this fisheye adapter on amazon and it was selling for 8 dollars so I thought why not. Well here are a few of the first pictures I have taken and for 8 bucks and I would say " not bad at all". Now I know it's no 8mm nikon fisheye but hey times are hard out here, got to think out side of the box.

The Sky Above The Earth Below
I love when people tell me that you can't do something or bettet yet that you can't take a good photograph in that way. Well on my way to a birthday party in Las Vegas I took this picture out of the plane window and it's not to bad...Gary

Butterfly of the Day
This butterfly is called a Malachite or better yet Siproeta stelenes. It can be found anywhere from Florida to South America. I got this picture at Brookside Gardens butterfly house in Maryland. Some of you will think that I altered the color saturation in making this picture. The only thing I can tell you is that if your blessed enough to show up at the right time when the light is perfect and the subject is in the right position and you have the right lens on at the right time this is what you might get....Gary

Bonsai Tree's at the National Arboretum Washington D.C.
Another place to visit in our nations capitol is the National Arboretum (google for directions), this free national park holds the national bonsai tree collection. I first visited this place in 1979 when Valerie and I were first dating and have been returning ever since to practice my photography. I'll post some of those pictures at a later date... For pictures like these use your tripod focus on the trunk of the tree and try F-16 in aperture priority as a starting point....Gary

Fighting, Weapons, Camera
This past weekend my dad and I shoot pictures for the U.S capital Classics which is the biggest martial arts tournament in the country. We had a great time at the event and captured some great images to go along with it. I took almost 800 pictures so I will need a little time to go through all of them so please stay tuned in for more to come. Most of the images I took were shot with a 50mm 1.8 at high speeds and low f-stops with a custom white balance reading from the video light.
a little fun with masking, remember to open your mine
A Good Bottle of Wine
Sometimes natural lighting does the best job. This picture was shot in the late afternoon, sunlight coming in from a window to the left side gave the right amount of light and created the right mood for this shot. Use you tripod as always.
